David J. Riedman

President

David is the Founder and President & CEO of Riedman Companies. Since its formation in 1993, the company has specialized in real estate development, construction, and property management across the Upstate New York, Finger Lakes, and Northwestern Pennsylvania regions. With a focus in real estate development, investment, and asset management, Riedman Companies designs, develops, owns, builds, manages and markets a wide variety of residential and commercial properties. David graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture.

David brings his expertise in development and finance to several community organizations, both through his professional work and philanthropic efforts. He became chair of Rochester Regional Health in June 2022 and led the Search Committee for the selection of the new CEO of the health system. In January 2023, David became chair of the YMCA of Greater Rochester, after serving as vice chair, and now holds the title of past chair. David also serves as a board member of ROC2025 and the Rochester Home Builders Association, as well as a member of the National Association of Home Builders. Additionally, David is an Emeritus Board Member of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Association.

In addition, David has served as chair of the Seneca Park Zoo board and continues his work as a trustee of The Riedman Foundation, a private family foundation.

David has earned numerous prestigious accolades throughout his career. He was recently named an RBJ Icon Honoree in the 2024 Rochester Business Journal’s ICON Honors, an award that recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional success and leadership in their industries and communities. David was also a recipient of Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award, which recognizes professionals who have achieved significant success and made meaningful civic contributions. Additionally, he received the 2015 Pillar Award from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) for his impact on the Rochester/Finger Lakes region and was named Builder of the Year by the Rochester Home Builders Association in 2004.
