Resident Spotlight: Pat Searles of The Hammocks at Canandaigua Makes National News with Her Daily Tradition

At The Hammocks at Canandaigua, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible people who make our community so special. One of our longtime residents, Pat Searles, has touched hearts across the country and recently made national news with a patriotic tradition she began right here at home.

Every day at noon, 89-year-old Pat steps onto her balcony and sings God Bless America. What started as a personal tribute has grown into a cherished routine for neighbors and visitors alike. Rain or shine, Pat’s voice rings out in honor of her late husband, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and as a daily reminder of what it means to love your country and your community.

Now in its fifth year, Pat’s tradition has not only brought together fellow residents at The Hammocks at Canandaigua, it’s also captured the attention of news outlets nationwide.
